Aldersgate: Local Resources
Fun in Pacific Palisades
Hiking: There are several good hiking
trails that are close to Aldersgate Retreat Center. The
closest trail head is at Temescal Canyon Gateway Park. This
is about a block away from Aldersgate Retreat Center and
there are several trails that branch off of there, including
one that goes up to a nice little waterfall. Los Liones
Canyon also has excellent hiking, and
Will Rogers State Historic Park has picnic areas, hiking
trails, and polo grounds.

Pier: A roller coaster, video game arcade, ferris wheel
and carousel, as well as shops and restaurants.

Self Realization Lake Shine
The Self Realization Lake Shine is a beautiful lake and
meditation gardens and is located on Sunset Blvd. Close to
Pacific Coast Hwy. Open Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 am though
4:30 PM, Sundays 12:30-4:30. Closed Mondays and Holidays.

Santa Ynez Canyon
Santa Ynez Canyon is about 2.2 miles from Aldersgate and
offers a shady, fairly flat hike.

There is a place that you can do ropes course activities in
Temescal Canyon. If you are serious about
team building this is a great way to do it.
